Specialized Opportunities:

Primary Duties:
- Patrol assigned zones, respond to calls, and proactively deter criminal activity
- Enforce state laws and county ordinances
- Initiate and conduct traffic enforcement
- Investigate crimes and file criminal charges
- Serve arrest and search warrants
- Apprehend, process, and transport suspects
- Participate in manhunts, tactical operations, and major incidents as needed
- Work independently while being supported by supervisors and command staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- U.S. citizen
- At least 21 years of age (20-year-olds may be considered if turning 21 soon)
- Valid Georgia driver’s license with a good driving record
- No felony convictions; select misdemeanor convictions may disqualify
- Must pass a thorough background investigation
- Must pass a drug screening, medical exam, and psychological evaluation
- GA POST-certified applicants must be in good standing
- Non-certified applicants must be eligible for POST certification
