Laundry Attendant

Job Title: Laundry AttendantJob Summary:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for operating laundry equipment and ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and proper maintenance of linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items used in the hotel. This role is critical to ensuring that guests have clean, fresh, and presentable linens during their stay, contributing to an overall positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Laundry Operations:
• Sort and separate linens and towels by type, color, and cleaning requirements.
• Load, operate, and unload washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
• Fold, iron, and organize clean linens, towels, and clothing items.
• Ensure proper care of delicate fabrics and specific washing instructions for different items (e.g., uniforms, bedspreads).
• Inventory Management:
• Keep track of linen and laundry supply levels.
• Notify supervisors when inventory is running low and requires replenishment.
• Label and track hotel linens to prevent loss or misplacement.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect linens and towels for stains, tears, or damages, and report any issues to supervisors.
• Ensure that laundry items are properly cleaned, pressed, and ready for use.
• Maintain consistent high-quality standards for cleanliness, folding, and organization.
• Cleaning and Maintenance:
• Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment by following established cleaning protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laundry equipment, reporting any issues to maintenance staff.
• Guest Services Support:
• Assist with guest laundry requests, including providing special services like dry cleaning or urgent laundry needs.
• Handle guests' items with care and ensure items are returned in a timely manner.
• Safety and Hygiene:
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including the safe use of chemicals and laundry equipment.
• Ensure that all laundry equipment is used properly to avoid accidents or damage to property.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous laundry or cleaning experience is preferred, especially in a hospitality setting.
• Basic understanding of laundry operations and equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to handle and organize large volumes of laundry efficiently.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting heavy laundry items and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when inspecting linens and towels for stains or damage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
