What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Canduct Industries Limited?
Purpose: Production team members are responsible for the construction of insulating cylinders and components for the transformer industry using various hand tools and machinery in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Inspect machines before start up
- Set up and troubleshoot machines, making necessary adjustment to improve outcome
- Troubleshoot maintenance and quality issues
- Perform daily cleaning and operator controlled PM
- Perform measurement and inspection
- Operate multiple wood working machines (drill press, bandsaw, shear, table)
- Interpret drawings
- Use tape measure, calipers and micrometers
- Cut, sand and shape materials to drawing specifications
- Group work orders together ensuring all material is collected and labeled.
- Adhere to SOP
- Adhere to PPE
- Correctly label parts with discretion and part number
Desired Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent math skills
- Excellent ability to work within a team environment
- Experience with woodworking machinery such as planers, table saws, radial arm saws, band saws, sanders and routers
- Experience with hand tools such as grinders, sanders, measuring tapes and calipers
- Must be able to work within very strict guidelines and tolerances and follow Standard Operating Procedures
- The ability to read blueprints and/or drawings is an asset

Job Type: Full-time
