Job Summary:

Canebrake Country Club is seeking responsible and safety-conscious Lifeguards to join our seasonal aquatics team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all members and guests in the pool area by enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and providing exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for individuals who are vigilant, dependable, and have a passion for water safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor pool activities and identify potential safety risks.
• Enforce all pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, including water rescues and administering first aid/CPR as needed.
• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area and conduct routine headcounts.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with members and guests.
• Assist with pool maintenance, including skimming, vacuuming, and checking chemical levels.
• Ensure all lifeguarding equipment is in proper working condition.
• Conduct safety checks and report any hazards or concerns to management.
• Assist with poolside events, swim lessons, and member activities as needed.
• Uphold Canebrake Country Club’s commitment to safety, hospitality, and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent).
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
• Previous lifeguard experience preferred but not required.
• Strong swimming skills and ability to remain alert for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Ability to stand, sit, and remain vigilant for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including sun and high temperatures.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
