What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-Hours Dog Care/Cleaning Attendant position at Canine to Five?
POSITION SUMMARY
The After-Hours Dog/Cleaning Attendant position contributes to the health and wellbeing of our dogs and guests by ensuring that they are kept in a clean and safe environment, and are given the proper attention according to Canine to Five's protocol.
Additionally, they are also responsible for keeping the facility clean, sterile and ready for business in all common, client reception areas and canine areas. The ideal candidate has an intense love of animals of all breeds/sizes, care for organization and overall cleanliness.
The hours for this position are Friday and Saturday 9pm-9am at our Eastside location and additional overnight hours in our Midtown location.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to Lift 50 lbs.
- At least 18 years of age or older
- Natural love for dogs
- Passionate about caring for dogs
- Available to work entire overnight shift independently
- Sense of urgency, initiative, responsiveness, and attention to detail
- Availability to work 3-5 shifts a week and weekends
- Ability to stand throughout an entire shift typically lasting 6-8 hours or longer
- Ability to operate some heavy machinery including a riding floor scrubber as needed
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that requires bending, squatting, brisk walking or running, repeated pulling, grabbing, pushing using hands and arms
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the dogs, including cleaning and disposing of pet waste properly
- Perform hourly walk throughs of dogs in boarding to ensure dogs are kept in a clean environment
- Record health and safety concerns about dogs and communicate to supervisor/mgr as needed
- Able to move dogs to throughout the building safely and efficiently
- Complete boarding services including potty breaks and 1:1 sessions as needed
- Monitor building security throughout shift and report any concerns to on call manager ASAP
- Filling mop/scoop buckets/trash cans throughout the facility and setting up location for daily use
- Thoroughly clean kennels rooms and enclosures per procedure including doors, walls, floors and cots/beds
- Dust/clean/sanitize shelving units/filing cabinets/surfaces and the like throughout facility
- Vacuum/clean/sanitize outdoor play yards including turf area and cement/asphalt areas. Including inner white fencing/chain link fencing and intakes
- Restrooms, break room, canine kitchens and desk area will have the following dusted/cleaned/vacuumed/sanitized:
- Toilets
- Sinks
- Cabinetry/furniture
- Baseboards
- Mirrored/glass surfaces
- Counters
- Seating areas
- Touch points
- Floors
- Trash/Receptacles
- Phones/computer screens
- Window sills
- Other locations that dust collects
