Canlak Coatings is looking for a detail-oriented, strategic Plant Controller to lead the accounting functions at our North Brunswick, NJ and Osseo, MN facilities.

In this role, you'll provide the financial leadership and cost accounting expertise essential to our continued growth and success.

What You'll Shape and Drive

• Manage the monthly accounting close process with precision and timeliness
• Oversee our financial ERP system (e21), maintaining control of all cost flows through the system
• Develop and maintain robust cost accounting systems and processes that provide accurate insights
• Analyze material margins across all products to identify opportunities for improvement
• Set and track financial KPIs that drive business performance
• Provide regular financial status reports and create insightful ad-hoc analyses when needed
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for the NJ facility
• Collaborate closely with supply chain on cost-related matters
• Take on special projects and initiatives that may fall outside the traditional controller role as business needs arise

The Experience & Expertise You'll Need

• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Degreed Accountant (CPA/CMA preferred but not required)
• Strong work experience as a Controller or similar role in manufacturing
• Strong cost accounting skills
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), procedures, and legislation
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Strong ERP knowledge (prior implementation experience a plus)
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines
