JOIN CANNON as a TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST (at an A/E/C firm) working in our IRVINE or SAN LUIS OBISPO office. Irvine offers warm weather, beautiful scenery, and is a top bicycling city with miles of on-road bicycle lanes and mountain bike trails. It is one of the safest communities and the public schools have consistently ranked among the best in California. San Luis Obispo is on the beautiful central coast of California, has scenic beaches, is surrounded by the wine country, and offers endless recreational opportunities.  


TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST JOB SUMMARY

Cannon is growing our Talent Acquisition team and seeking to add another Talent Acquisition Specialist.  As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, attracting, and hiring talent to support Cannon's growth and objectives. This position will research, develop, and execute effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified talent from the A/E/C industry. This involves sourcing, assessing, and interviewing prospective employees to identify the best fit for the Cannon team. From initiating job postings to facilitating offer negotiations and onboarding, you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle. We are seeking an individual with a thorough understanding and hands-on experience in all aspects of full lifecycle recruitment. This position must be able to work a minimum of three days a week in the Cannon Irvine or San Luis Obispo office.


TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST JOB DUTIES

  • Collaborates with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develops comprehensive recruitment plans.
  • Implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the open positions, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Utilizes various sourcing techniques (e.g., job boards, social media, networking events, employee referrals) to attract a qualified diverse pool of candidates.
  • Leverages networks to find qualified active and passive candidates through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and conferences.
  • Sources, screens, and interviews candidates to assess their qualifications and fit for the positions and company culture.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the interview processes, including scheduling, candidate communication, and feedback collection.
  • Manages candidate relationships throughout the recruitment lifecycle, providing a positive experience and timely updates.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, best practices, and innovative recruiting techniques to enhance talent acquisition strategies.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to align recruitment strategies with business goals.
  • Support initiatives to enhance company branding efforts including participation in job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date candidate records in our applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
  • Tracks and analyzes recruitment metrics to evaluate the success of recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in talent acquisition or full cycle recruiting, preferably in the A/E/C sector.
  • A proven track record of successfully sourcing and hiring candidates in various roles and levels.
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of recruitment processes and best practices, including candidate assessment techniques and interview methodologies.
  • Experience with Sourcing methods, like developing Boolean strings, and platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build a rapport with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other recruitment tools.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
