Cannon Law Group is seeking an experienced Paralegal/ Legal Assistant to provide direct assistance to attorneys in their office. The ideal candidate will have a positive “can-do” attitude to meet the needs of high-level clients and attorneys. Responsibilities
- Assist the attorneys in all stages of litigation and trial work, including the preparation of documents necessary for litigation
- Preparing, collecting, and organizing the information, data, and evidence for use by attorneys in hearings or trials
- Preparing legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and interrogatories
- Assist lawyers by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents
- Prepare, organize, and maintain case research, notes, legal documents, and client materials
- Verify documents for accuracy
- Editing and proofreading legal documents
- Develop and maintain an understanding of individual client preferences and requests
- Maintain and manage attorney/paralegal calendars/events
- Effectively scheduling and managing travel arrangements and meetings/depositions, arranging for conference rooms and related logistics
- Assist as needed with all projects, overflow work, administrative work and other duties as required to support and aid in the workloads of attorneys, paralegals, peers, and other colleagues throughout the firm.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping, and computer operation
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, and work calmly under pressure
- Careful attention to detail and self-motivated
- Ability to both follow instructions, and to think and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
- Clio experience preferred
- Two years of office experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
