Construction & Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- Proven experience in carpentry and exterior siding installation.
- Strong knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- General Maintenance experience is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Construction & Maintenance Technician Job Summary:
Cannon Management is seeking a skilled and versatile Construction & Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position will primarily focus on a special project involving carpentry, exterior building siding repairs, and replacements across multiple properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong carpentry skills, experience with exterior siding materials, and the ability to work independently. Upon completion or during lulls in the special project, the technician will transition to standard apartment maintenance tasks, ensuring the overall upkeep and functionality of our properties.
Responsibilities (Special Project):
- Perform carpentry work, including framing, trim installation, and structural repairs.
- Remove and replace damaged exterior building siding (e.g., vinyl, wood, metal).
- Accurately measure, cut, and install siding materials to specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and in compliance with building codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Document work progress and report any issues to the project manager/direct supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Responsibilities (General Maintenance):
- Refer to the attached Maintenance Technician Job Description for detailed responsibilities.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
- Plumbing repairs (leaks, clogs, etc.)
- Electrical repairs (outlets, switches, light fixtures)
- HVAC troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Appliance repairs
- Painting and drywall repairs
- General apartment upkeep
- Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Assist with property turnover and preparation for new residents.
