About The Role
Under the direction of designated project leadership, the successful candidate will perform with a high degree of latitude and will be responsible for leading and engaging with clients and teams in delivering services to creatively solve problems for a 2.0 million square foot healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Rochester, MN.
Here’s What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership to the client and project team in establishment of the project goals and vision.
- Provide project interior design leadership across multiple projects.
- Lead the design development of the project’s goals through all phases of the project (the Pursuit, Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Design, Construction Administration).
- Evaluate client needs, analyze and effectively document design objectives and spatial requirements.
- Responsible for leading the interior design approach within the project team.
- Responsible for the conceptual and design development of interior spaces for the project.
- Coordinate project design work and code compliance.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines, including architecture, engineering and consultants.
- Conduct a review of drawings and support functions in conformance with project time, budget and quality constraints.
- Oversight of and productions of design visualization.
- Assist and/or lead in project planning through development and follow through of work plans/budgeting.
- Develop the schedule of work for the interior design components of the project.
- Assist in or lead client meetings.
- Maintain positive client and team relations.
- Implement, follow, maintain, and enforce interior design standards used throughout interior design team in all project aspects/ phases.
- Lead the development of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) throughout all phases of the interior design work, as required.
- Specification development and coordination.
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff.
- Actively participate and promote design leadership.
- Collaborate with design leadership.
- Consult with product vendors.
- Lead and/or participate in marketing activities, including proposal development and interviews.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
- May perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture required.
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
- Strong design, story telling and technical skills as well as the knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
- Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration and communication skills are a must.
- The ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.
- Experience leading a high performing team is preferred.
- Critical thinker.
- Highly analytical.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Professional business attire is required for client meetings. Examples of professional business attire include suits, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, and skirts.
- Travel required. At a minimum travel to the client site is expected every other week.

Salary : $81,955 - $102,398
