Join our team at Canoe Bay, where exceptional hospitality meets culinary excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our culinary team at the Midwest's Best Getaway. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a stunning 300-acre property featuring an on-site restaurant, an incredible organic garden, and extensive hiking trails. Located in a peaceful rural setting, just 15 minutes east of Chetek, WI, we specialize in providing serene, relaxing, and romantic getaways for our guests, always striving to exceed their expectations. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. As a Chef, you will assist with overseeing kitchen operations, menu planning, food production, ordering and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef, and assist with team leadership and management of daily kitchen operations
- Supervise and coordinate food preparation and presentation
- Develop and execute menu planning in line with Canoe Bay's culinary standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on best practices
- Collaborate with management to create innovative dining experiences
- Maintain inventory levels and control food costs effectively
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Expertise in culinary arts, menu planning, and kitchen management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Creative flair for designing unique dishes while maintaining consistency
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant field is a plus
