Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team! This role supports the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping young minds, modeling positive behaviors, and building strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesChild Engagement & Development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom where children thrive.
- Foster social-emotional, language, intellectual, and physical growth through play and structured activities.
- Implement engaging, hands-on learning experiences based on the center’s curriculum and monthly themes.
- Support children in developing healthy habits and self-help skills.
Classroom & Program Support
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and leading activities, ensuring they are adaptable to meet the needs of each child.
- Supervise and interact with children at all times, ensuring a secure and enriching environment.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, daily routines, incident reports, and developmental assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota Rule 3 and all childcare licensing regulations.
Family & Team Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth classroom operations and a positive team environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and at least one community event annually.

Requirements
- Must pass a background study.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and engage in activities at a child’s level (kneeling, sitting on the floor, etc.).
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for at least one hour per day.
- Willingness to work occasional hours outside of the normal schedule for training.
- Must relocate to Marshall, MN 56258 before starting work (if applicable).
- Some college coursework in Early Childhood Education or other areas is preferred but not required.
