About the Role
Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is seeking a currently enrolled graduate student in a local University to participate in a 4-6 month Co-op experience in Public Relations in the Melville, NY office.
Your Impact
This opportunity will allow the Graduate Student to rotate between Public Relations and Social Media. The responsibilities would include but not limited to :
Public Relations :
- Participate in media tracking and curating interesting content for different platforms for all the Canon business units.
- Identify new media outlets, contacts, platforms to enable Public Relations to build media lists.
- Craft and edit pitches, press releases and media alerts.
- Process documents through internal review processes from start to finish.
- Media monitoring for competitor news that can be written up and presented to Canon business units.
- Close communication and follow-up with business unit for deadlines, approvals and review processes.

About You : The Skills & Expertise You Bring
A currently enrolled student pursuing a Master's degree, in a related major pursuing a career in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
We are providing the anticipated rate for this role : $25.00 hourly.
