Job Purpose
Digital Process MES Engineer will work closely with the Manufacturing Project team to assure all Manufacturing Processes have been documented and can be implemented in Canoo MES system. This position will also be involved with sustaining and maintaining the MES system after implementation. This is a hands-on role hence programming experience is essential. The successful candidate will work closely with the MES system integrator during implementation and will be held accountable for supplier management for the allocated area (Body Shop, Paint Shop or General Assembly). Automotive manufacturing MES experience is crucial for this role. On launch of the new facility the position holder will be responsible to address and rectify any matters that require attention prior the final production, assuring minimum machinery downtime and high equipment efficiency. Future continuous improvement projects will be essential to sustain the world class excellence.
Responsibilities (80s of the Position)
- Assure successful deployment of the MES on the shopfloor
- Collect requirements and must haves from the manufacturing project team
- Develop detailed designs and Process definitions, implement, troubleshoot, and test MES solution
- Develop and improve processes in accordance with Canoo staged growth strategy
- Liaise between MES solution supplier and internal project team
- Oversee integration with 3rd party systems (Automation, ERP and PLM)
- Document system faults and troubleshooting activities
- Develop long term relationship with shop managers and team leaders
- Provide operational training to the production teams
- Be the MES first line fix in the plant
- Assure long term planning and solution future expansion potential
- Maintain company's standards, IP, Quality and H&S
