- The Financial Analyst provides support to management and the overall operations of the programs within the organization.
- The Financial Analyst assists management in understanding the business, and identifies future opportunities through financial reporting, special projects, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual organizational operations budgets for all entities and programs.
- Review monthly financial statements at a programmatic level and analyze operation results against budget. For programs with significant variances, organize meetings with the respective program directors to discuss these variances.
- Assist the Senior Director of Finance and the Finance Manager to recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of division and departments.
- Compute and maintain financial KPIs on a monthly basis.
- Complete special projects as assigned through the process of gathering and analyzing data, presenting data in a concise and understandable format.
- Assist with internal audits as directed by the Finance Manager.
- Assist in annual external audit by gathering information, managing requests form external auditors, and preparing year-end financial statements.
- Assist in preparation of the annual 990s for all entities.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual cost report.
- Assist the Senior Director of Finance and the Finance Manager in preparing year-end forecasts of various programs based upon actual results and discussions with key staff.
- Cross-train and back-up work flow in the CFO area.
- Assist and support the CFO, Senior Director of Finance and Finance Manager in the development of proformas in conjunction with potential opportunities, gathering of data from key staff, actual financial information and dialogue/meetings with management to obtain information needed, agreed upon timelines and other pertinent information. Identify advantages/disadvantages based upon the analysis.
- Trouble-shoot areas identified by management and provide data and recommend solutions.
- Review grants from governmental agencies and private foundations to determine overall compliance with grant requirements.
- Responsible for demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural/socioeconomic differences in the organization/program service population.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) and three (3) years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of advance degree and accounting experience.
- Must have excellent communications and computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial software required.
- Must possess solid analytical skills and ability to think strategically, must possess good judgment and a high level of initiative and independence.
- Must have knowledge of financial accounting, and budgeting.
- Must be willing to use personal vehicle for organizational travel as required.
