Vice President, Compliance
Position Summary:
The Vice President, Compliance, will be responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing, and continuously improving the compliance program for research and development activities. This individual will act as a strategic business partner across various functions, including medical, clinical, and regulatory teams, ensuring compliance processes align with organizational needs. As part of the extended leadership team, the role requires strong business acumen and leadership experience to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization while also being a hands-on contributor in managing and integrating compliance processes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Promote compliance awareness by maintaining open lines of communication and ensuring easy access to compliance-related policies, procedures, and updates.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement plans to mitigate identified risks.
- Provide proactive compliance support to key business functions, such as medical affairs and clinical operations.
- Develop and oversee compliance training programs for employees, consultants, and vendors.
- Assist in compliance investigations as needed.
- Draft, revise, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare and communicate compliance materials for leadership and board meetings.
- Ensure compliance risk mitigation processes are functioning effectively.
- Stay informed of regulatory changes and advise the business accordingly.
- Collaborate with Legal on corporate compliance matters.
- Act as a senior leadership team member, working cross-functionally to achieve company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) preferred.
- 12 years of experience in ethics, compliance, or a combination of compliance and legal roles within a regulated healthcare or biopharmaceutical environment.
- Strong understanding of the drug development process and how compliance requirements evolve from early to late-stage clinical trials.
- Experience leading a team of compliance professionals, including managing external vendors.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify key trends.
- Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and provide strategic compliance guidance.
- Experience developing and delivering compliance training programs.
- Exposure to global R&D compliance frameworks preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant healthcare compliance laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Compensation: Salary Range - $275,000 - $375,000 (Dependent on Experience)
