Lead Behavioral Educational Interventionist - Position Overview:

  • The Lead Behavioral-Educational Interventionist (Lead BEI) will assist students in achieving educational and behavioral goals through direct instruction and indirect support in the school setting. 
  • This position will support BEIs in planning for and monitoring the daily behaviors of students placed in Cares School.
  • The Lead BEI will ensure accurate staff data collection and will provide ongoing analysis by graphing data.
  • The Lead BEI will communicate consistently with contracted Behavior Consultants and will help staff implement given strategies.
  • The Lead BEI will receive supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and take direction from supervisors and area supervisors

Job Responsibilities:

Professional Responsibility

  • Arrives on time for work and other activities.
  • Performs extra duties as assigned.
  • Assists principal in maintaining staff: student ratios.
  • Assists teachers and school staff in managing school climate.

Supervises Behavior Educational Interventionist-1s (BEI-1s)

  • Completes on the job training with newly hired BEI-1s.
  • Provides ongoing training and supervision for BEI-1s.
  • Oversees and Monitors Daily Data Collection completed by BEI-1s.
  • Ensures treatment integrity and inner observer agreement (IOA) quarterly.

Analyzes Behavior Data

  • Maintains student behavior data binders (e.g., files data sheets, tracks promotion, etc.)
  • Complete graphs on student behavior data each 9 weeks.
  • Provides graphed data as needed to school districts and parents.
  • Provides graphed data to CARES School staff as needed.

Provides Support Services for Autism Classroom

  • Provide behavior therapy* for Autism Classroom Students as written under related services on the student’s IEP
  • Creates and assists in implementation of protocols and interventions as needed.
  • Creates and documents progress on Annual IEP behavior/emotional/social goals and objectives as appropriate for Autism Classroom students.
  • Assist BEIs to manage crisis in the classroom / school.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work or related discipline with one and a half years of experience working with individuals with developmental delays.
    • Five years’ experience and Board Certification in Behavioral Analysis may be substituted for field related degree.
    • Must be at least twenty-one years old. 
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English, and to communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner. 
    • Must possess a valid Mississippi driver’s license and the ability to be covered by organization insurance provider.
