Job Description
The Safety and Equipment Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and providing necessary training to maintenance employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a constant safety environment, striving for zero incidents and full compliance with OSHA and plant standards.
- Provide effective supervision, training, and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve required equipment uptime, repairs, and production goals.
- Ensure standard operating procedures and engineering/maintenance procedures are current, accurate, and all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality.
- Monitor maintenance employees' adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or significant experience in a related field.
- Strong preventive maintenance development experience, based on TPM principles, a plus.
- Must be able to motivate/lead others, deal with ambiguity, have a results-driven mind-set, good decision-making skills, and excellent communication skills.
- 5 years of job-related experience in a food safety manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
