Job Description
The Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Cantera Concrete Company involves preparing and submitting quotes on assigned projects to ensure timely completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Main Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safety and communicate effectively with safety professionals to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify and quantify construction elements, participate in job turnover processes, and develop client relationships for current and future projects.
- Monitor costs, including labor and materials, and participate in bid reviews as necessary.
- Assess risk possibilities associated with projects, prepare proposals, and acquire bid bonds.
- Prepare job cost budgets, solicit vendor quotes, and assist project managers with pricing change orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Broad understanding of the concrete construction industry and knowledge of Microsoft programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to function effectively as part of a team, and strong decision-making/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage in various tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Four years of construction experience and two years of concrete experience required.
- OSHA 10 certification, CPR certification, and First Aid certification preferred.
