Job Description:
The Estimator role at Cantera Concrete Company is a critical position that requires strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills. This individual will be responsible for preparing and submitting quotes on assigned projects to ensure timely completion while maintaining safety, quality, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of 'Safety First' and communicate with Safety Professionals to ensure a safe workplace.
- Identify and halt unsafe work practices and report them to management promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and quantify construction elements.
- Participate in job turnover processes with the Cantera leadership team.
- Develop client relationships for current and future jobs.
- Monitor costs, including labor and time.
- Participate in bid reviews with other estimators as necessary.
- Assess risk possibilities associated with projects.
- Prepare proposals and acquire bid bonds.
- Prepare job cost budget.
- Solicit vendor quotes.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and estimates in a timely manner.
- Assist Project Managers with pricing of change orders.
Requirements:
- Broad understanding of the concrete construction industry.
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
- Strong decision-making/problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Able to engage in a variety of tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
- Able to perform duties independently.
- Strong mathematical skills.

Qualifications:
- Four years of Construction Experience with no formal education required.
- Two years of Concrete Experience.
