Canterbury Court is looking for Activities Assistants to join our family. These Full-time positions are located in the long-term care division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

The Activities Assistant must have a sincere desire to serve older adults in a quality continuing care setting, providing for the dignity of all residents through a high standard of caring professional Assisted Living and Nursing services.
Recreation and leisure activities provide opportunities for the Nursing Pavilion and Personal Care residents to continue to engage in a healthy lifestyle.
The Activities Assistant is assigned to work closely with the Activity Coordinator to ensure the coordination, development, and maintenance of a quality activity program based on the needs of the residents.
Healthy and productive lifestyles can be presented with challenging alternatives during the aging process; you must have a sincere, genuine desire to serve older adults. You will be assigned to assist the Social Worker and Nursing in delivering care in a quality setting, providing for the dignity of all residents through a high standard of caring professional.
Requirements
The Activities Assistant shall be knowledgeable of the aging process and therapeutic interventions applicable for specific disease processes.
The Activities Assistant should be able to perform duties in a nursing home setting with long-term care residents.
The Activities Assistant should demonstrate effective communication with residents, staff, families, and visitors.
The Activities Assistant will perform a majority of the work in a comfortable interior environment, with occasional work performed outdoors.
The Activities Assistant may be exposed to contagious diseases and / or required to work with combative residents.
The Activities Assistant may be required to stand for lengthy periods of time and push wheelchairs.
