Job Title: Assistant Activities Coordinator

Summary
Assists the Director of Activities in planning and administering ongoing activity programs for the community. These include both group and individual social activities, outings, spiritual programs, and creative, artistic activities. Encourages resident participation in activities and procures the necessary equipment. Experience working with residents in Memory Care a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to operate audio-visual equipment.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to work independently; to prioritize tasks and organize work efficiently.
· Ability to motivate people and be sensitive to their needs.
· Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with patients and staff.
· Computer skills including a basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
· A high comfort level using the internet for searches and email sufficient to prepare items for the resident newsletter
· Skill in providing support in the planning, coordinating and implementation of an activities program to meet the diverse needs of assisted living residents.
· Physical ability necessary to transport residents in wheelchairs.
· Understanding and awareness of problems of the aging.
· Respect for resident rights and confidentiality.
· A current Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
· Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience preferred and/or training in direct service with older adults, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must complete the State approved Alzheimer’s, Infection control, and other required courses within required time frames.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

- Rotating weekends
