Job Title: Aide, Housekeeping

Job Summary: The aide in housekeeping works under the supervisor and performs duties within established guides and under sanitary conditions in housekeeping.
Primary Purpose:
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned ensuring that all rooms and areas are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Responsibilities
Administrative Functions:
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance with ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be. (Occurrences must be reported on the shift they occur)
- Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.
Committee Functions:
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing service.
Housekeeping Functions:
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Assure the assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
- Assure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.
- Follow established fire safety policies and procedures
- Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
- Wash and sanitize wet mop head.
Staff Development Functions:
- Attend departmental and staff meetings as called.
Requirements:
- GED or equivalent
Qualifications:
- Must be able to stoop, squat, kneel, bend, twist, reach, crouch, lift, push/pull, and move moderately heavy equipment and supplies throughout the workday.
- Work includes pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and bending
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with patience and tact.
- Physical ability to move and lift items up to 25 pounds and cope with the mental and physical stress of the job.
Physical and Safety Considerations:
- Includes repetitive motions, weight lifting, and prolonged standing, sitting, or bending.
