Substitute Bus Assistant

Hourly Rate $13.72

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Educational Aide permit
• Physical ability to lift students
• Honesty
• Cooperate and get along with others
• Work as a member of a team
  
  

Desirable

• Ability to take directions
• Previous successful experience with school age children
  
  

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Bus Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists the bus driver to provide a positive and safe atmosphere on the bus
• Assists students on and off the bus
• Accompanies students to and from the bus
• Assigns students seats if necessary and/or required
• Understands and maintains the academic and behavioral standards set for the students by the bus driver and/or Supervisor of Transportation
• Operates wheelchair lift as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
