Long Term Substitute Teacher (5th Grade)

Canton College Preparatory School is seeking a long term substitute teacher for an immediate opening on our K-8 campus. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, and be appropriately licensed through the Ohio Department of Education. Under the direction of the principal, the teacher will maintain a quality 5th grade program for students. The ideal candidate will possess the qualities needed to create a class environment that engenders rigorous learning and academic growth for all students. Belief and alignment with our mission that all students are college-bound are a must.

Specific Responsibilities
- Use assessment data to refine and inform curricular and instructional practices
- Participate in Professional Development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Remain highly organized and meet deadlines 100% of the time
- Create intentional lesson plans that support academic rigor and student engagement

Qualifications
- Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
- Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic subjects
- Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
- Minimum of one year teaching experience in an urban setting preferred, but not required
- Valid State Certification is required
- Belief in and alignment with Canton College Preparatory School's mission and vision is non-negotiable.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
