FORGE SERVICE OPERATOR
- Note: As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift and/or night shift at some point following initial training.
Pay Rate: Starts at $22 per hour

Position Overview:
Canton Drop Forge, a leading producer of large, closed die forgings in Canton, Ohio, is seeking Forge Service Operators to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling. Movement of large equipment, steel, and tooling between appropriate departments using Power Industrial Trucks. Transport forgings, steel, dies, and tooling between furnaces, hammers, presses, and storage areas. Handling and operating various tools and equipment, such as: tongs, hoist, trim presses. Operation of Powered Industrial Trucks and Bobcats.
- Housekeeping. Cleans work area and equipment with brooms, shovels, solvents, and Bobcat. Assists in putting away tongs, tooling, and other necessary work equipment. Helps to maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Production. May assist in installing dies and tooling, and/or moving pieces with tongs or power industrial trucks. May fill-in on production crews as needed.
- Performing duties within coordinated work effort to support forging operations.
- Communicate with other employees, departments, and leadership via radio.
- Other General Labor duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking throughout shift.
- Ability to work with parts and equipment up to 100 lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.
- Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.
Canton Drop Forge is a Drug-Free Workplace. Must be willing to undergo and pass a drug test if hired - including hair follicle testing.
General Requirements:
- Industrial Manufacturing or Labor: 1 year
- Power Industrial Trucks: 2 years
- Must be able to speak and understand verbal and written English.
