FINAL INSPECTORS - All Shifts (Day, Evening, Night)
- Note: As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift or night shift at some point following initial training.
Pay Rate: Starting at $20.42; contractual increases every 6 months until reaching top rate.

Position Overview: Canton Drop Forge, a leading producer of large, closed die forgings in Canton, Ohio, is seeking Final Inspectors to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspects forgings for conformance to specifications following blueprints and customer requirements and using measuring instruments and determines cause of defects by applying knowledge or metal characteristics and forging methods.
- Performs hand grinding to correct surface cracks and imperfections where applicable throughout the final inspection process.
- Verifies dimensions of forgings using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, rulers, and templates.
- Examines forgings to detect surface defects such as scale, laps, and cracks.
- Informs supervisor of defects.
- May inspect, straighten, and grind defects from raw forgings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand majority of shift.
- Job involves standing, walking, twisting, turning, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly during the day, utilizing large grinders for extended periods.
- Must be able to tolerate extreme heat in summer months and extreme cold during winter months.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read.
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral communication.
- Follows all company policies and safety procedures.
- Ensure that all the parts being worked on are of the highest quality.
