GENERAL LABORER – FORGING
The normal schedule is Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts - though overtime may be required occasionally, as an 8-hour shift on Fridays.
Day Shift: 5:20 AM to 3:20 PM
Afternoon Shift: 3:20 PM to 1:20 AM
- Note: As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift at some point following initial training.
Pay Rate: Piece rate incentive, average $25 per hour while training

Position Overview:
Canton Drop Forge, a leading producer of large, closed die forgings in Canton, Ohio, is seeking Forge Helpers – General Labor to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading furnaces.
- Transferring metal stock pieces to and from furnaces, hammers, and trim presses.
- Removal of scale, trimming of parts, and identifying pieces produced
- Loading, cleaning, and lubricating machines.
- Assess dimensions of workpieces during the forging operation using gages.
- Maintaining proper alignment of dies or tooling.
- Handling and operating various tools and equipment, such as: tongs, hoist, trim presses.
- Operation of Powered Industrial Trucks and Bobcats.
- Performing duties within coordinated work effort of the forging operation.
- Other General Labor duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking throughout shift.
- Ability to work with parts and equipment up to 100 lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.
- Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.
