ABOUT THE POSITION:
This specialized role demands an individual with an understanding of the luxury furniture market. This role requires someone with a keen eye for design and a knowledge of Italian luxury brands. The individual must have had experience in purchasing and managing inventory levels. The position will require working with brands from all over the world and require collaboration with other Cantoni team members to generate the required revenue goals for Cantoni.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and nurture long-term relationships with key suppliers. Collaborate with existing brands and improve existing offerings.
- Product Sourcing & Selection: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, both domestic and international. Attend trade shows, vendor meetings as required by management.
- Negotiation & Purchasing: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with brands.
- Monitoring daily sales and placement of new stock orders and special orders.
- Stay abreast of current trends in the luxury furniture market, including competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and emerging design styles. Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for new product development and identify best-selling items.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all purchased products meet the company's rigorous standards. Work with suppliers to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Budget Management & Cost Optimization: Develop and manage inventory levels for assigned product categories.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize purchasing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking and maintain gross margins.
- Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with the Sales team to provide detailed product information and support client presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Buyer in the luxury furniture or home furnishings industry.
- Strong understanding of luxury brands, materials, and construction techniques.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify new product opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
