Job Summary
Our network of towing companies is seeking to hire an individual to assist with accounts receivable. This is expected to be a part time position, with flexible schedule. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring accuracy in billing, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining records related to billing. They will monitor incoming payments, correctly apply, and properly track them to maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
Responsibilities
- Ensure invoices and pricing are accurate and in compliance with company policies, current contracts, and quotes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies associated with invoices and payments.
- Generate, review, and send out invoices to clients and customers.
- Establish and maintain relationships with past, current, and future customers.
- Collaborate with customers on past due balances owed to the Company.
- Prepare and complete internal audits as appropriate to ensure all shipped items have been invoiced.
- Enter billing data into financial systems and update records as needed.
- Generate monthly account statements.
- Assist with year-end audits.
- Work effectively with the team, encouraging and supporting others.
- Develop and maintain interdepartmental communication channels.
- Be a champion of change supporting a culture of Continuous Improvement.
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
A four-year degree in accounting is preferred. Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in accounting/finance, or a combination of both.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics. Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Suite knowledge required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills is required.
