Job Title: Database Manager
Location: Hill AFB, UT - Clearfield, UT (On-Site)
Canvas is seeking a System Architect!
Duties:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Designs, implements, and maintains database systems.
- Monitors and tunes database performance.
- Manages database backups and recovery procedures.
- Implements and maintains database security.
- Troubleshoots and resolves database issues.
- Plans for future database capacity needs.
- Documents database systems and procedures.
- Collaborates with developers on database integration.
- Migrates data between systems.
- Manages database vendors.
- Ensures database compliance with regulations.
- Researches and evaluates new database technologies.
- Mentors and trains other team members.
- Manages database-related budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field. *Experience may be substituted for education with customer approval.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Masters SQL and other database languages.
- Administers specific database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
- Creates effective data models.
- Tunes database performance for optimal speed.
- Manages backup and recovery processes.
- Implements and maintains database security protocols.
- Troubleshoots and resolves database problems.
- Understands relevant operating systems (Linux, Windows).
- Uses scripting languages for automation.
- Works with cloud-based database services.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders.
- Solves complex database challenges.
- Analyzes data and identifies trends.
- Manages database projects effectively.
- Creates clear and concise documentation.
Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Security Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Other Essential Job Functions:
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
