POSITION SUMMARY
A Job Superintendent could oversee and perform tasks in multiple job sites, simultaneously, and manage the manpower sometimes with the assistance of a Foreman. The Job Superintendent must always ensure a safe and efficient workplace. This position is responsible for the coordination of tasks for their employees according to current project needs, produce schedules for team members, and supervise the use of machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with General Superintendent/Field Superintendent and/or Project Manager to schedule job tasks and equipment.
- Coordinate daily tasks and schedules with the Foreman according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel.
- Continually provide updates to the Field Superintendent and Canyon Management on project status and communicate any needs at the job site.
- Must review and comprehend project proposals, scope of work, job schedule and Canyon durations throughout the project, submittals, and continually review all drawings including all RFIs/ASIs and all shop drawings.
- Responsible to review both Surveyors layout and Canyon’s layout to ensure consistency and identify any potential problems.
- Required to write and submit at the jobsite a Daily Report summarizing the day’s activities and must submit a daily report in the Canyon internal system with the same information.
- Develop and present a two week look ahead for the project at the weekly internal scheduling meeting.
- Responsible to place concrete/stone orders to vendors for each job task.
- Responsible for ordering slab packages and miscellaneous material orders through Canyon website as necessary.
- Responsible to submit paperwork for all material delivery tickets w/cost coding on a daily.
- Responsible for having truck maintenance up to date (at Canyon’s shop) and maintaining tool inventory and upkeep (repaired/maintenance by Canyon or others).
- Ensure weekly safety toolbox talks are held with emphasis on worksite safety and safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensure that daily huddles are held each day to include stretch and flex, hazard analysis, daily work assignments and equipment checklists are reviewed.
- Required to attend jobsite Foreman meetings prepared to provide input for scheduling and coordination of other trades and be prepared to make timely decisions for jobsite progress.
- Develop and oversee safety/ quality standards on the job site.
- Perform pre-pour checklist on the job site.
- Resolve problems with projects, materials, and employees as they arise.
- Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably.
- Attend monthly job production meetings w/General Superintendent/Field Superintendent and PM to review progress of job.
- Build and develop trusting relationships with current customers and seek to identify opportunities to grow our customer base and build positive relationships.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 7 years' experience in the concrete construction industry.
- Prior experience managing 7 or more employees on a job site.
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
- CPR required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a PLUS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Must be able to stand, bend, climb and kneel for prolonged periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. Position will require that employee have manual dexterity, good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
