Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the procurement and inventory management functions. This position is responsible for assisting buyers with daily purchasing activities, managing material flow, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The role involves coordinating past-due purchase order (PO) follow-ups, supporting invoice reconciliation, handling simple quality issues, and assisting with Kanban and inventory processes. Additionally, the Supply Chain Coordinator will participate in cross-training efforts with inventory control and configuration ordering and receiving.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities -
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination:
- Assist buyers in daily past-due PO follow-ups to ensure timely material deliveries.
- Support Special Product Request (SPR) quoting and ordering to facilitate custom orders.
- Process and track Kanban orders to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Process purchase orders for materials based on pre-defined SOP’s
- Help with simple quality issue resolution by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
Invoice & Inventory Management:
- Work with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoice discrepancies related to purchase orders.
- Support the Material Issue Resolution (MIR) process by documenting and resolving discrepancies in materials received.
- Assist in physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy in stock levels.
- Cross-train with the inventory control team on stock management and best practices.
Receiving & Configuration Support:
- Assist in configuration ordering and receiving processes to ensure materials are properly documented and stocked.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to optimize material flow and minimize shortages.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or coursework in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in materials management, purchasing, or inventory control.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with suppliers, buyers, and internal teams.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with some time spent on the production floor and warehouse.
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed (up to 25 lbs).
- May require standing or walking for extended periods during physical counts.
Compensation / Benefits:
- Base salary range of $26.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
