What are the responsibilities and job description for the PART-TIME Shelter Staff position at Canyon Creek Services?
We are hiring for a part-time position for varied nights and weekends with the option to pickup additional shifts.
*NIGHT SHIFTS DO HAVE THE OPTION TO SLEEP FOR UP TO 4 HOURS*
JOB SUMMARY:
Canyon Creek Services (CCS) provides a 24/7 confidential emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence. CCS provides a full array of services for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. This position serves women and their children who are victims of domestic violence, whether they are residents of the shelter or living in the community. Shelter staff contributes to the safe and supportive environment, attending to immediate needs and providing ongoing support and assistance. Shelter staff also lead, direct, or coordinate activities for women and/or their children that supports routine, predictability, non-violent family life, and self-sufficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer business and crisis line calls
- Perform intake duties for women entering the shelter during non-business hours and as requested during business hours
- Conduct basic needs assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning to survivors of domestic violence
- Monitor security cameras throughout shift and prior to answering the door
- Perform nightly safety checks
- Gather statistical information and enter it into computer database
- Preserve accurate records in compliance with confidentiality mandate and state licensing requirements
- Model appropriate professional boundaries and ethical standards, adhering to CCS policies and procedures
- Completes tasks related to the daily operations of the shelter facility as assigned
- Attend meetings as assigned and assist with special projects and events
- Perform other duties as assigned
