What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPECIAL EDUCATION CERTIFIED TEACHER POOL position at Canyon Owyhee School Service Agency?
Qualifications:
Valid Idaho Teacher Certification with proper Special Education Education endorsement OR Bachelor’s Degree with plan to obtain Special Education Certification through Alternate Route.
Responsibilities:
Work with special education staff in developing IEP’s, plan, organize, and provide specially designed instruction based on IEP goals, collaborate with general education staff on supporting students in the general education classroom. Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings and conduct academic assessments to determine eligibility for special education. Supervise paraprofessionals and coordinate schedules to ensure students are receiving appropriate services. Data collection on progress towards IEP goals.
Position Purpose:
Under the general supervision of building administrator and Special Education Director the teacher’s goal is to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by providing support and developing services that reflect best practices in special education and serve as a resource and support for regular classroom teachers in how to provide classroom accommodations.
