WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A COLLEAGUE
As Managing Director for Canyon Ranch Lenox, you'll be responsible for the day to day operation of the resort, with direct oversight of the property's Executive Committee.
You will act as the senior leader on site responsible for coordination of activities and communication among property management and executive staff, providing coaching and support as appropriate. You will help determine the long range, strategic direction of the property, and implement that strategy in day-to-day operation.
The right candidate will demonstrate a personal philosophy of life and work ethic compatible with Canyon Ranch values.
You will also represent the property and the Canyon Ranch brand to the community (in civic, service and professional groups), industry professionals and local and state government agencies in a manner that enhances the Canyon Ranch reputation, promotes awareness and gains recognition for employee recruitment, development and competency.
Responsibilities include:
- Guest Experience: Be visible in the guest areas making constant rounds to welcome and interact with our guests, members and homeowners to ensure that their needs and expectations are being fulfilled in a consistent manner. Effectively respond to any needs, requests or issues that arise to ensure that they are fully satisfied with their overall experience. Maintain existing and develop new relationships with our guests to make them feel welcomed, valued and special.
- Operations: Perform a variety of administrative duties including, but not limited to coordinating guest arrivals and departures, budget/payroll controls, facilitating and participating in operational meetings, reviewing guest surveys and feedback, reviewing and processing e-mail correspondence, review and develop capital improvement projects, communicate and/or correspond with our internal and external customers as needed etc.
- Staff Supervision: Directly responsible for providing the overall direction, coordination, oversight, and evaluation of the Management Team. Meet with colleagues in reference to suggestions or ideas to improve operational efficiency and keep them focused on our purpose and values.
- Leadership: Provide leadership and general direction for the property's Management Team and all colleagues. Provides highly visible and inspirational leadership to all colleagues and in-house guests to ensure that brand standards are maintained and enhanced.
- Professional Relationships: Maintain excellent working relationships with all constituents, providing effective coordination between all parties involved to ensure the efficient and effective guest experience and operation of the resort.
- Brand programs: Accountable for Canyon Ranch programming delivery, as defined by Canyon Ranch programming criteria and protocols to ensure outstanding guest service in all aspects of operation.
- Financial Accountability: Develop, implement and coordinate all aspects of business and financial plans for all areas with direct reporting responsibility and in conjunction with the executive committee representatives, directly responsible for the operational success of each department. Be accountable for successful achievement of targets established in the property's annual business plan.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 6 years of specialized experience in hospitality management or related field
- Demonstrate an understanding of the philosophy of Canyon Ranch and its practical application
- Knowledgeable about spa operations, services and activities
- Demonstrate in–depth understanding of evolving luxury hospitality and wellness industries
- Demonstrate people management skills which have successfully motivated & enhanced performance & development.
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of employment
