What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Supervisor position at Canyon Ranch?
Medical Office Supervisor performs advanced administrative work primarily for the Medical department including supervision of the Medical office non-clinical staff. Troubleshoots problems and non-routine situations by determining the proper action to take through interpretation of protocols, policies, and practices.
Staff Supervision: Under direction of the Medical Administrator, you will supervise and train Medical Coordinator staff members. Performs orientation of new staff members. Facilitates monthly staff meeting. Maintains new hire files. Motivates and mentors staff utilizing feedback. Assigns and checks work and recommends discipline of staff. Resolves disputes and concerns from staff and guests with direction from Medical Administrator.
Schedules: Coordinates with doctors, nurses, guests, and other Medical departments while scheduling appointments by phone and in person. Implements complex scheduling adjustments to meet changing needs of providers and guests, especially in the event of provider cancellations. Responsible for maintaining Medical Coordinators’ work schedule and assisting with adjustments to staff schedules.
Records: Manages medical records in conjunction with Medical office staff to ensure compliance with governing regulations. Ensures guest records are complete and accurate. Responds to medical records requests to insurance companies, attorneys, other health care providers and the guest. Follows release of information guidelines and standards as per Canyon Ranch policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you will need 1-2 years previous experience in same or related field. Proficient skills in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone and organizational skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
