Key Responsibilities:
Claims Management:
- Review and interpret insurance policies to confirm coverage, exclusions, and applicable endorsements for property damages.
- Act as the primary point of contact for insurance adjusters, clients, and internal teams during the claims process.
- Document, submit, and track property damage claims with accuracy and timeliness.
Scope Development and Review:
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to develop comprehensive scopes of work for repairs or reconstruction.
- Identify and document missed or supplemental items to ensure the claim covers all necessary aspects of the loss.
- Negotiate with insurance adjusters to achieve fair settlement outcomes for both the client and the company.
Client and Vendor Coordination:
- Provide clear and empathetic communication with clients regarding the claims process, timelines, and next steps.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, schedule repairs, and execute restoration projects efficiently.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of claims, including photographs, estimates, correspondence, and status updates.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for supplements, change orders, and final billing.
- Generate regular reports on claims progress, approvals, and closures for management review.
Compliance and Best Practices:
- Stay updated on industry standards, insurance regulations, and construction codes to ensure compliance.
- Implement best practices for managing claims and maintaining positive relationships with insurance carriers.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve disputes or challenges during the claims process with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Advocate for clients and the company to ensure fair and accurate settlements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in property claims, insurance claims support, or a similar role within the construction or restoration industry.
- Proficiency in interpreting insurance policies, Xactimate (or equivalent estimating software), and construction documentation.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple claims simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering a world-class client experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification) or experience with water/fire damage restoration.
- Familiarity with Proven Onsite or similar project tracking tools.
- Knowledge of local building codes and permitting requirements.
Compensation:
- $50,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
