What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Veterinarian position at Canyon View Animal Hospital?
Canyon View Animal Hospital is a privately owned small animal practice that has been serving Littleton and the Ken Caryl area since 1999. I’ll introduce myself first- I’m Dr. Clare Ennis, a CSU grad that purchased the practice from my mentor in 2018. Sadly, our long-term associate vet is moving on and I am looking for the perfect candidate to fill this vacancy.
We have a loyal, compliant client base and excellent reputation in the community. As the practice owner my goal is to provide high quality, personalized veterinary care while also fostering a comfortable, collaborative and positive work environment for my staff. I want you to actually enjoy being a veterinarian again! This means scheduling appropriately and respecting that you have a life outside of work. You’ll have 30-60 minute appointments, a built in lunch hour and breaks, and time to write your records. Both our front and back support staff is long tenured and skilled. Practice high quality medicine and still get home to your family on time.
Benefits include:
- Competitive salary- fair compensation (110-150k depending on experience and schedule) without the stress of meeting production numbers
- Flexible scheduling- 3-4 day work week, only one Saturday per month with no on-call or emergencies
- Medical, dental and life insurance
- 401(k) option
- Annual $2000 CE allowance with 2 days time off and travel assistance
- Generous PTO (minimum 3 weeks in addition to holidays) and sick time
- Professional development assistance
- Personal pet discounts
- Paid license renewal fees and membership dues
- AVMA PLIT coverage
- Scrub allowance
- No non-compete
We have the following:
- Digital radiology
- Full Idexx in-house lab (Catalyst, ProCyte, Sedivue)
- Surgery suite
- Dentistry with digital radiographs
- Ultrasound
- Dragon veterinary dictation as well as AI scribe technology for medical records
- Regular access to a board-certified radiologist and surgeons
Must be very comfortable performing dental cleanings and extractions. The ideal candidate would also be comfortable performing basic soft tissue surgery (mass removals and spays) but this is negotiable. USDA accreditation required for interstate health certificates; international certificates not required. Must have a DVM or equivalent and active Colorado veterinary license.
I’m hoping to fill this vacancy by May of 2025 but can be flexible on start date. Interested? Respond to this posting or shoot your resume and any questions to me at clareennisDVM@gmail.com.
