Available Schedules: Full-Time, 6:00am -2:30pm, 2:00pm-10:00pm, 10:00pm-6:30am, days will be discussed during interview.
BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION: Act under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel to carry out all duties of personal care and assistance to the residents of Canyon Winds Assisted Community. Responsible for handling residents in a manner conducive to their safety, dignity, and emotional and physical well being. Responsible for executing all duties within the guidelines of local and state law and Canyon Winds policies and procedures and resident rights.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, positioning, transfers, mobility and incontinence care within the guidelines of state law and Canyon Winds policies and procedures
· Assist all residents in participating in planned activity program seven days per week
· Prepare, assist with and document the administration of medication to residents under supervision of licensed nurse and in strict compliance with state regulations and physician’s orders
· Prepare residents for meals and snacks and assist residents in dining room.
· Keep proper records of care given
· Follow all safety and infection control policies and procedures
· Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, offices and corridors as outlined in Vista Winds housekeeping procedures. Ensure all areas are safe
· Attend all required in-service training
· Communicate all pertinent information to L.P.N
· Communicate with oncoming shift to ensure follow through of duties
· Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately
· Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Must have completed (and provide evidence of completion) of a Department approved training program for caregivers appropriate to the license sub-classification or provide evidence from a DHS approved trainer of competency in the material
· High school diploma or equivalent
· State certification as a licensed certified caregiver
SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:
· Compassion and desire to work with frail and elderly
· Must be able to pass background check
· Must have Fingerprint Clearance Card.
