Description : Basic Function :
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Pediatrician provides high quality primary care services to patients under 18 years of age.

Essential Functions :
1. Provides direct patient care to clinic patients as outlined in the physician’s current work agreement.
2. Elicits information related to the patient’s medical history and records into the Agency’s approved EMR / EHR system. Provides information for inclusion into Agency spreadsheets and worksheets for data reporting purposes.
3. Maintains patient records and provides accurate billing information.
4. Examines the patient for symptoms or to determine physical information. Orders, interprets, and executes various tests and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examinations to present accurate diagnoses. Refers patients to medical specialist(s) for consultant services when necessary for further evaluation and treatment.
5. Ensures completion of tasks, patient labs, imaging, and reports, as well as required paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. 6. Administers or prescribes treatments. Prescribes medications, dosage and schedule in accordance with patient diagnoses, condition, and allergies.
7. Promotes health and wellness by advising patients about family planning, diet, physical activity, and hygiene along with methods for prevention of disease.
8. Provides up-to-date knowledge of well-baby and well-child and EPSDT visit content.
9. Familiar with sexual abuse and current State of Arizona legal requirements.
10. Evaluates patients in a timely and courteous manner.
11. Ability to provide appropriate adolescent care.
12. Familiar with immunization statutes, schedules and contraindications.
13. Follows the rules and regulations as set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services and contracted health plans. 14. Ability to provide knowledge and direction regarding growth and development problems, including Denver Developmental Screening Test.
