Job Description
We are seeking a Junior UI/UX Designer to execute impactful design work across projects, from creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups to maintaining and enhancing our design system. The ideal candidate will conduct user research, usability testing, and design QA to ensure solutions meet both user needs and business goals. You’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders, iterate on designs based on feedback, and assist in documenting and optimizing design processes. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented designer passionate about crafting user-friendly interfaces and scalable design systems.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and developers to brainstorm, wireframe, and create user-centric designs that meet business goals.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate based on user and stakeholder feedback.
- Design and maintain scalable, reusable components within the design system to ensure consistency across projects.
- Present wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project requirements and business goals.
- Execute design QA to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications and maintain the intended user experience.
- Balance multiple projects, delivering high-quality designs on tight deadlines within an agile product environment.
- Maintain and update existing design systems, components, and user experiences.
- Stay informed about emerging design trends, best practices, and tools to continuously improve user experiences.
- Assist in documenting design processes, guidelines, and standards to support team-wide consistency and efficiency.
- Contribute to projects from concept to release, collaborating across teams to ensure seamless design-to-development handoffs.
Experience:
- Bachelors (4 Year University) Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 1 – 3 years of industry/field-specific experience.
- A portfolio that showcases several recent designs is required for consideration.
Skills:
- Experience building compelling user experiences.
- Expertise in developing responsive, accessible, secure, and performant web applications.
- Advanced knowledge of the UI/UX design practices and concepts to create highly interactive interfaces.
- Knowledge of WCAG standards.
- Ability to build digital UIs for web and mobile using responsive design methods.
- Experience working remotely, but in a collaborative environment.
- Experience in partnering with the business, gathering requirements, creating documentation and user stories.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Experience creating user personas and user flows to represent user needs and map intuitive journeys.
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in using Figma for design, prototyping, and collaboration.
- Expertise with frontend client-side development, frameworks, and patterns like React, Angular, Vue, or other modern frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
- Experience building reusable components using modern component frameworks such as Material-UI, Chakra UI, or Ant Design.
- Experience maintaining and scaling design systems to ensure consistency across system.
- Proficiency with tools like Zeplin or Figma Dev Mode for seamless developer handoffs.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe CC Suite and/or other industry-standard creative tools.
