CAP Quality Care is currently offering a full-time position for a substance use disorder counselor, (LADC or CADC) of 40 hours per week. Hours 6AM-2PM, with flexibility required. The agency pays for licensure renewal, as well as some CEU requirements. CAP also offers12 paid personal days a year, and 13 paid holidays. Your role as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:
The substance use disorder counselor is very instrumental in a patients treatment and recovery. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor provides the highest quality care, and shows compassion to all patients.
Your responsibilities as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:
* Conduct screening to determine a person’s appropriateness and eligibility for admission to treatment.
* Complete intakes, re-instatements, re-admissions and transfers for admissions.
* Complete assessments and a biopsychosocial history to identify and evaluate patient’s strengths, weaknesses, problems and needs.
* Complete treatment plans with patients, establishing agreed upon immediate, short-term and long-term goals and identify the treatment methods and resources to be utilized in achieving these goals.
* Provide group and individual program orientation to patients. Delineate treatment goals, agency policies and procedures, state and federal regulations and providing information on high-risk behaviors, the disease of addiction, relapse and recovery, infectious diseases and methadone.
* Provide referrals, when a patient’s treatment needs cannot be fully met at this agency. Assisting the patient in using his/her support systems and available community resources.
* Provide case management, to bring services, agencies, and resources together within a planned framework of action to facilitate the achievement of established treatment goals.
* Conduct/facilitate individual and group counseling sessions. Document sessions in Electronic Medical Record.
* The substance use disorder counselor provides crisis intervention, responding to patient needs during acute emotional and/or physical distress. Be aware of patients and guests in the building and respond to verbal and or non-verbal behavior when necessary.
Requirements:
High School or equivalent required.
CADC or LADC with strong organizational and written skills, ability to work in a fast pace environment.
Good communication skills.
Ability to be adaptable and flexible.
Good decision making skills.
