What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at Capacity LLC?
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop formalized procurement processes, coordinate with internal teams, work with external partners and negotiate contracts. Continual assessment of market analysis, cost optimization, performance monitoring, and process improvement.
- Manage the process of product selection at competitive prices, locating key suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality materials, products and/or services meet specifications. Monitor and analyze market trends for cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop strategies to optimize procurement processes including vendor scorecards to measure effectiveness and in-depth understanding of market. Conduct regular vendor reviews to ensure vendor complies with the organization’s standards. Negotiate favorable prices through volume orders or payment terms.
- Prepare and present spending analysis utilizing KPIs; Keep apprised about company expenses and credit card usage policies. Plan for seasonal demands.
- Oversee Purchase Order and SKU management processes from start to finish; Track inventory on hand and manage timing of restocking; market analysis, cost optimization, performance monitoring, and process improvement.
- Negotiating with the Controller and vendors/partners including equipment leasing companies
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully the candidate must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- 3 years of experience as a procurement professional in mid-sized companies at $250 million in Sales and/or Supply Chain organization.
- Ability and desire to work in a very fast-paced environment that is less structured than larger organizations requiring a highly entrepreneurial mindset.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, decision maker and risk taker who is passionate about Supply Chain; smart, resourceful, innovative and an absolute team player. Energized by learning new processes and a willingness to both accept and drive change.
- Must possess excellent time management, leadership and communication skills.
- Outstanding systems/technical skills with Microsoft Dynamics D365 ERP and products, Advanced Excel, Salesforce, Warehouse Management Systems applications experience a plus.
- Supply chain, warehouse distribution and logistics knowledge desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor’ Degree in Business Management or Supply Chain related field of study. CPP, CSCP and CPSM certifications, desirable.
