Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dynamic Trainers and Facilitators to join our team for an exciting post-hurricane Community Resiliency Project. This initiative aims to empower individuals and organizations to rebuild mental, emotional, and practical resilience in the aftermath of recent storm impacts. If you are an experienced trainer, teacher, workshop leader or facilitator with a knack for engaging diverse groups, creating a positive learning environment, and promoting growth, we want to hear from you! This is a short term position ( 5-6 months max) working on an independent contractor basis with potential to grow into other long-term roles with Capacity Path or our non-profit parter org Capacity Path Relief.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Training Session: Deliver interactive, engaging, and impactful training workshops focused on repairing from storm
- Impacts, debriefing, and building personal and community resilience.
- Facilitate Group Discussions: Lead group discussions that encourage participants to share experiences, ideas, and strategies to enhance resilience.
- Provide Support: Offer guidance and coaching to individuals and teams, fostering a sense of community and trust.
- Collaborate: Work alongside other trainers, facilitators, and project stakeholders to continuously improve content and delivery methods
- Reporting: Complete regular reporting daily and weekly on the impact of the workshops, collecting evaluations, and scheduling future events in tandem with an outreach coordinator
- Community Outreach: Develop community relationship so as to build a network of community psychosocial support, allowing for more of these programs to be provided
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a trainer, facilitator, or educator, ideally in resilience, mental health, personal development, or a related field.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Experience working with diverse groups, including individuals from different cultural, social, and professional backgrounds
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices in training and facilitation
- A passion for empowering others and fostering positive change.
- Experience working with emergency responders, disaster, relief, or social service organizations as a plus
- Note- Retired public safety, and public health professionals encouraged to apply as the training methods can be taught to people with broader community exposure to high crisis professions
- The position will involve travel throughout the impacted region to present onsite workshops. A working car is not required, but helpful.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work or Peer Coach is ideal but not required
- Experience giving presentations to a large audience
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and willingness to learn new related concepts
- Must pass a Level 2 Background Check and participate in Capacity Path’s Advanced Crisis Training
- Bonus for Background in Military, Law Enforcement, Fire, SAR, EMS, 911/211 Operator, Medical, or Emergency Management
- Bonus for Working Knowledge of NIMS-ICS Emergency Management principles, FEMA certifications (e.g., ICS-100-800)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $6,000.00 - $9,000.00 per month
