The Cape Ann Climate Coalition is hiring an Energy Program Coordinator to support low-income residents in Cape Ann in weatherizing their homes and transitioning to energy-efficient, cost-saving appliances. The role involves identifying and engaging with eligible renters, landlords, and homeowners to increase awareness of the benefits of weatherization and electrifying everything while providing ongoing support, advocacy, and problem-solving until residents achieve their decarbonization goals. Additional responsibilities include organizing community events, collaborating with community organizations, and tracking program data and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Build Program Awareness
- Conduct in-person and digital outreach to Cape Ann residents to raise awareness of weatherization and electrification opportunities.
- Connect residents with energy efficiency and electrification opportunities through public engagement strategies, such as special events, small group presentations and local media.
- Plan and lead local events promoting weatherization and electrification and identify, attend, and table or present at community events.
Provide Individual Support
- Conduct intake conversations with Cape Ann residents and track resident program engagement and decarbonization progress.
- Actively communicate with community members to guide them through various program application processes (e.g. Mass Save, Energy Saver Home Loan Program, etc.) and facilitate communication with stakeholders to address program participation barriers.
- Support coordination between local organizations, home improvement contractors, and community members to increase program participation rates.
Track Program Outcomes
- Track data on program participation and outcomes. Support the design and administration of surveys and other customer feedback tools.
- Aid in submitting grant reports to MassCEC and other funders.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- Two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in customer service, community organizing, and/or community outreach. A bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
- Strong interest in grassroots environmental justice, climate adaptation, and resiliency, and in working to achieve Cape Ann’s climate goals.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills for communicating with a diverse audience.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Comfort communicating with a variety of residents, landlords, and other stakeholders in person, by phone, & over email.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with building electrification components and relevant Massachusetts programs is preferred but not required.
- Proficient computer skills with prior experience using MS Suite, strongly preferred.
- Ability to work offsite and after hours, occasionally on weekends, as needed and with advance notice.
- Candidates with a strong knowledge of Cape Ann communities and neighborhoods will be preferred. A current Massachusetts driver's license is preferred.

A part-time job opportunity may also be considered. This is a one-year grant funded position with the possibility of a role extension, contingent on funding renewal.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
