GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Associate Director of Student Wellness and Support Services is a crucial role responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive interventions and programs that address students' mental health and basic needs while promoting dignity and minimizing marginalization. This position will be based on the Plymouth campus (Aviation Maintenance Technology Program) but will also service students on the Bridgewater (Funeral Service Program) and West Barnstable campuses. The successful candidate must share in Cape Cod Community College's commitment to promoting well-being as a core institutional value. This position is year-round and requires frequent travel between campuses. Hours will range between 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. This is an in-person position during semesters with the possibility of some remote work outside of academic terms.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Expand and improve mental health, wellness and essential needs support visibility and resources available to students, particularly on satellite campuses.
- Case management of students to provide direct, therapeutic, and basic needs support services including clinical support for those in crisis or distress related to medical, psychological, or personal concerns.
- Assist in coordination of comprehensive student services, including direct behavioral and mental health support and access to essential needs to provide comprehensive wraparound services and programs that support student retention for day and evening cohort students.
- Develop partnerships with on- and off-campus organizations to ensure students have access to community-based services, therapy, and safety net programs.
- Coordinate with Wellness Promotion and Services and Student Wellness for campus community training programs and presentations on topics such as bystander intervention, stress reduction, physical, spiritual, social, environmental, academic, occupational, emotional, and financial wellness that incorporate Okanagan Charter principles.
- Collect and analyze data on wellness initiatives and student support services using Maxient, EAB, and other platforms and systems to evaluate their effectiveness, identify areas for improvement and continued assessment of services and outcomes and quarterly and year-end assessment reports.
- Supervise and develop staff members and interns involved in student wellness and support services.
- Develop informational materials including awareness campaigns, brochures, handbooks, and manuals to support access to basic needs services and mental health resources with marketing team.
- Maintain an updated resource list of community mental health providers, financial counseling services, social services, medical facilities, and housing resources for student referral.
- Assist students in accessing services and public benefits for which they may be eligible.
- Work closely with various campus departments and programs to promote awareness of student mental health, wellbeing, and basic needs support.
- Participate in crisis response and management for incidents that may affect campus safety and well-being.
- Serve on college-wide committees as necessary and serve in a senior role with the Behavioral Intervention Team, Well-being Collaborative, Hunger Free Campus Initiatives and JED Campus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or related discipline.
- Licensed LICSW or equivalent in Massachusetts.
- Sensitivity to diverse student need; commitment to confidentiality.
- College-level experience in student support, wellness, mental health, or basic needs.
- Crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and college mental health expertise.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to quickly changing priorities.
- Knowledge of College policies: Title IX, Clery Act, mandated reporting, ethics.
- Community partnership and diverse stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Experience leading collaborative efforts and teams among faculty, staff, and students.
- Independent work skills: ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data management and reporting.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated training in solution-focused, stepped care and brief intervention models.
- Demonstrated experience and/or training in trauma informed care.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Annual salary range of $85,000-$89,000, dependent upon qualifications. Full-time (12 months), benefited, Non-Unit Professional position including participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program and the option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.
