Rate of Pay: $23.00 - $25.00

Job Summary: The Assistant in Training (AIT) position is for individuals with limited golf course experience looking to become full-time turf management professionals. The AIT will work with Superintendent, Lead Assistant and all full-time staff to help grow and learn all essential skills required to work on a golf course while creating a path for advancement within our organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work hand-in-hand with the Superintendent and Lead Assistant to develop and implement agronomic programs.
- Assist in all aspects of golf course mowing.
- Safely participate in fertilizer and chemical applications. Learn to calibrate both fertilizer spreaders and sprayers. Assist in maintaining proper record-keeping and inventory levels while producing monthly usage reports.
- Water resource management; learn hand-watering, irrigation troubleshooting, and repair fundamentals.
- Technology; EZ Pins hole location management software, Playbooks pesticide record keeping. Toro GPS Sprayer technology.
- Involved in the daily course setup and inspection.
- Assist in tree management practices, i.e., removals, pruning.
- Access to continuing education and dues for local and national associations.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.
Requirements
- 1-3 years experience working on a golf course or landscape-type position
- Excellent verbal communication
- Valid Driver’s License
