As theVeterinary Emergency and Critical Care Nurse Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our nursing staff, ensuring that exceptional patient care standards are consistently met. You will work closely with board-certified specialists and other veterinary professionals to create a cohesive, supportive team focused on delivering outstanding care in emergency and critical care settings. - Leadership & Team Management :
Oversee, mentor, and support a team of veterinary nurses, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all shifts
Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal 24 / 7 coverage while balancing PTO requests and staff wellbeingConduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback, fostering a positive and professional environmentLead team meetings, set performance expectations, and address team dynamics to maintain a high-functioning unitHandle conflict resolution and manage staff morale in a high-pressure environmentPatient Care & Technical Expertise :Actively participate in patient care, setting the standard for nursing excellence
Assist in developing and implementing protocols that enhance patient outcomes and optimize workflow efficiencyUtilize your technical expertise to train and upskill team members, pushing the boundaries of their practice and knowledge within the limits of their licensesOn-Call & Emergency Support :Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed, providing support during high-volume periods or critical cases
Be a resource for the team in handling complex or emergent situations and step in to provide leadership and guidanceQualifications :
CVT, RVT, or LVT certification preferred, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 4 years of emergency and critical care experience in a veterinary settingProven leadership experience in managing, training, and developing a veterinary nursing teamStrong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentExceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team while maintaining a positive and professional attitudeAbility to lift and restrain animals up to 50 lbs and spend extended periods on your feetExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially in high-pressure situationsA passion for continuous learning and staff developmentComprehensive Benefits Package :
