DESCRIPTION:

The Executive Director is the key management leader of the Cape Cod Village Center for Developmental Disabilities (CDD). The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, strategic plan and the program offerings of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, grant writing and community outreach.

The Mission of the Center for Developmental Disabilities is to provide social, recreational, and educational opportunities to people with autism or other intellectual developmental disabilities on Cape Cod.

REPORTS TO: Board of Directors of CCVCDD

SUPERVISES: Other employees, (currently the Program Coordinator and two part-time staff)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.

· Responsible for the fiscal integrity of CDD, including, in collaboration with the Treasurer and Finance Committee, the submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.

· Responsible for fiscal management that ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

· Responsible for fundraising, including grant writing, working with individual and business donors, the annual appeal, and developing resources necessary to support CDD’s mission.

· Responsible for tracking, reporting and invoicing of all grants

2) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with the Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through strategic planning, program implementation, and community outreach.

· Oversees the Program Coordinator and other staff as they carry out the organization’s mission through the creation, implementation and evaluation of CDD’s programs.

· Responsible for collaborating with the Board on long range, strategic planning to ensure that CDD can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.

· Promotes enhancement of CDD’s image by working with local, state, and regional professional, civic, and private organizations.

· Serves as a primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the public.

3) Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.

· Establishes administrative and employment policies and procedures for the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the organization.

· Responsible for ensuring that the function of CDD as Property Manager of the Cape Cod Village, Inc. property is performed in a competent manner – property maintained, vendors engaged and overseen as necessary, financial activity maintained in a timely manner

· Responsible for hiring, supervising, evaluating, and retaining competent, qualified staff, as approved by the Board of Directors

· Responsible for review and execution of all contracts for services made and entered into and on behalf of the organization within any limitations set by the Board.

· Oversees marketing and other internal and external communications

· The Executive Director shall also complete other duties and tasks as assigned by the Board of Directors.

4) Board Governance: Works with the Board to fulfill the organization’s mission.

· Responsible for leading CDD in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.

· Recommends Board governance policies and procedures for adoption.

· Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

· Works to support and develop the Board of Directors

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree: Master’s Degree Preferred

· At least 3 years nonprofit management experience or equivalent

· Detailed knowledge of fundraising strategies and experience working with individual and business donors – direct mail, social media, etc.

· Proven success with all aspects of grants: grant research, writing grant proposals, managing grant funds, and developing & tracking participant outcomes

· Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including computer/software skills for budget preparation, management, analysis, decision-making and reporting

· Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation

· Collaborative and high integrity leadership style

· Ability to convey a vision of CDD’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers, donors and the general public

· Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to hire, retain, and supervise staff

· Strong public speaking ability

· Familiarity with the populations we serve

Job Type:

Part-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
